Tips for Caring for Your Work Uniform So It Doesn't Get Damaged Easily

Have you ever calculated the budget spent just on replacing faded or torn office uniforms each year? We frequently encounter such cases. Many purchasing teams complain about poor material quality, yet the root of the problem is simple: employees' improper washing habits.

No matter how good the fabric coming out of the garment factory is, if it's treated carelessly, its lifespan will clearly be short.

Different Fabrics, Different Treatments

Different types of fabric require different handling. Generalizing washing methods for all clothes is a rather fatal mistake.

Cotton or drill fabric, for example. These types are cool and comfortable for daily wear, but their fibers tend to shrink easily if intentionally washed with hot water. It's a different story when caring for flame-resistant coveralls. These garments should never come into contact with fabric softener. Fabric softener liquid can coat the special fibers and immediately deactivate their flame-resistant properties. The same goes for high-vis PPE clothing with reflective tape; keep it away from chlorine bleach if you don't want the reflective tape to peel off one by one.

Washing Habits Often Overlooked

Actually, garment care isn't complicated. The key lies in small details when clothes are about to go into the washing machine.

First, always separate heavily soiled clothes. Field uniforms stained with oil or mud should never be mixed with HR shirts that are only worn in air-conditioned rooms. Before throwing them into the machine, get used to turning clothes inside out to protect the main fabric texture and logo colors from friction. Lastly, there's no need to hastily use warm water. Regular water is more than enough to remove sweat without making the fabric stretch out quickly.

Drying and Storing

Blazing sunlight certainly dries laundry quickly, but excessive heat is the main enemy of textile color pigments. To make colors last longer, simply air-dry clothes in a shaded area with good air circulation. If you have to use a dryer, set it to the lowest temperature.

When ironing, adjust the temperature according to the fabric's characteristics. Cotton can withstand medium heat, but synthetic materials like polyester require low temperatures to prevent them from becoming shiny or even sticking. For shirts or suits, hang them on wide contoured hangers to prevent the shoulders from losing their shape quickly.

Request Garment Material Samples

Proper care is indeed the main key, but choosing thick and strong raw materials from the start remains the most crucial factor.
